Silver Britannia
The Silver Britannia is the official Silver bullion coin of Great Britain. Produced by the Royal Mint in a particular form of silver termed "Britannia Silver" with a purity of .958, it is set apart from many other silver bullion coins of .999 silver purity. The Silver Britannia is currently minted in just a 1 oz version. They have legal tender status, a face value of £2, and are backed by the Royal Mint for weight and content. The design of the coin has featured varying depictions of Britannia, standing and seated, since it was first minted in 1998.
