Silver Eagle
The American Silver Eagle (ASE) is an official Silver bullion coin of the United States, in minted in .9999 Silver. Gold and Platinum versions of the Eagle are also minted. Silver Eagles were originally produced in 1 Ounce versions, but 1/2 troy pound (8 troy ounce) and 1 troy pound (16 troy ounce) versions are also available in limited quantity. It is authorized by the United States Congress and is backed by the United States Mint for weight and content.
